Aorai hike

We’re off on a 2-day adventure up Mont Aorai, with breathtaking views from the summit of the third-highest mountain on the island of Tahiti.
For the first day, all along the climb, we’ll have views of the Diadème, Mont Marau and the peaks of Orohena and Pito Hiti, which are still a little higher above the clouds…
We’ll prepare a barbecue for dinner at the bivouac.
And on day 2, we’ll enjoy the summit and its 360° views, weather permitting, before starting our descent.

Warning
All participants must be in good physical condition,
and, above all, not be afraid of heights.

Team
- A qualified hiking guide
- A qualified aquatic guide to ensure safe swimming
Equipment required (not supplied)
- Hiking bag
- Sleeping bag
- Towel
- Clothes for the night and the hike
- A change of clothes for the return trip (to your car)
- Good hiking boots with crampons
Groceries (not supplied)
- 4 to 5 liters of water per person per day
- Snacks for breaks and nibbles for microbreaks (dried fruit, peanuts, cereal bars, etc.)
- Free tea, coffee and hot chocolate at lunchtime
- Lunches are not included except for the evening meal, which will be a barbecue!

Duration
Meet at 8:00 am at Pirae town hall. It’s a 45-minute drive to the Mont Aorai lookout, where the hike begins.
We’ll spend the night in a refuge and return to the lookout around 5pm the following day.
