Aorai hike

Heading for Mount Aorai, 2066 meters above sea level.
It’s on for a day’s hiking with breathtaking views from the summit of the third highest mountain on the island of Tahiti.
Views of the Diadème, Mont Marau and the peaks of Orohena and Pito Hiti, which are still a little higher above the clouds…

Warning
All participants must be in good physical condition,
and, above all, not be afraid of heights.

Team
- A qualified hiking guide
- A qualified aquatic guide to ensure safe swimming
Equipment required (not supplied)
- A T-shirt or dry top for after the swims (for those with a cold)
- A towel and 1 change of clothes for the return trip (to be left in your car)
- Good hiking boots with crampons
Groceries (not supplied)
- 4 to 5 liters of water per person
- Snacks for lunch and nibbles for microbreaks (dried fruit, peanuts, cereal bars, etc.)
- Free tea, coffee and hot chocolate for lunch

Duration
Meet at 6 am at Pirae town hall. It’s a 45 minutes drive to the Mont Aorai lookout, where the hike begins.
We’ll have a snack break at the summit with a 360° view, weather permitting. Return to the belvedere at around 5.30 – 6 p.m.
